Chapter 3 · 3.3
Language, spell checking and dictionary
Euro-Office checks your spelling as you type. Words it doesn't recognise get a red wavy underline. For this to work properly, your document language needs to be set correctly.
The language of your document
At the bottom right of the status bar, you'll see the language of the text where your cursor is (1), for example English. To the right of it are two buttons: the globe icon (Set document language) and the Spell checking button, which turns the check on or off.

Is a different language shown, for example Dutch, making almost every word underlined in red? Click the globe icon and choose English. This applies to the whole document. Do you only want to set the language for a piece of text, for example a French sentence? Select that text, click the language in the status bar, and choose the language.
Correcting a spelling mistake
Right-click a word that's underlined in red. You'll then get suggestions for the correct spelling. Is the word actually correct, for example a name? Then choose Ignore all, or choose Add to dictionary, so the word won't be marked red again.
The language of the menus
The menus in Euro-Office use the language you've set in Nextcloud. You can change this in Nextcloud: click your profile picture at the top right, choose Settings, and open the language settings page on the left (Language & locale). There, choose your preferred language under Language.
