Chapter 8 · 8.2
Fast or Strict: the two co-editing modes
Euro-Office has two ways of editing together. You choose between them on the Collaboration tab with the Co-editing Mode button (1).

| Mode | What happens | Useful when |
|---|---|---|
| Fast (default) | You see other people's changes straight away, as they type. Everything is saved automatically. | you're writing a text together or filling something in together during a meeting. |
| Strict | Your changes only become visible to others when you click Save. You also only see other people's changes at that point. You can't edit a paragraph at the same time as a colleague who's working on it. | you want to calmly write your own chapter without the text shifting underneath you. |
How to switch modes
- Go to the Collaboration tab.
- Click Co-editing Mode (1).
- Choose Fast or Strict.
In Strict mode, click the Save button at the top left when you've finished a section. Your own changes are then sent to the others and you immediately see their new text.
You can also set the mode via File and then Advanced Settings, under Co-editing Mode.
Please note: if you're in Fast mode with several people in a document, Undo and Redo work in a limited way. You can only undo your own changes, not someone else's. If you want to revert something a colleague did, use the version history instead (Version History: restoring an older version).
